Every year Pantone selects a color for the year. This year it is Tangerine Tango.

Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
A mix of yellow and red, tangerine is a happy and joy filled color as I stated when I blogged about orange last year. Definitely a stimulating color I like it best as a pop accent in a room or in your wardrobe. It is a color that stands out and one you can’t miss!

While not what I would have expected or selected for the year, it never the less is a color I love and use often in homes I help design. Here is a look at some of the ways you can use this bright and happy color:
- on an upholstered accent piece
- as a pillow or drape
- in your accessories such as a throw, vase, lamp or bowl

- as an accent color on one wall, a small room or as part of a painted piece of furniture
- in your electronics or appliance choices
- tangerines as food are always good

Tangerine will energize your interior space, and add spice to any room. And, when mixed with cool opposites such as turquoise, teal or purple it makes a definite statement.
