Missoni-Color, Pattern and Texture Mixing

Missoni-Color, Pattern and Texture Mixing

Yes, I’m on a fabric roll here. From Suzani’s to Otomi Tenango‘s, and even textile art flags, I am into the visual and tactile prints, patterns and mixes you can get through great layering of color and textures. And, no body does it better then the Italian Company, Missoni!

Having been in the fashion business for 15 years, and now in home interiors I have a huge appreciation for the Missoni line. I love the way they layer prints, patterns, textures, color, fabrics…it’s art in and of itself.

Recently Margherita Missoni got married, and seeing the photos of her wedding party reminded me of her families talents. Even her dress, a traditional white, was a masterpiece layer of texture and pattern. She looked like a Renaissance Princess, don’t you think?

Seeing her wedding parties outdoor set up was inspirational for any and every hostess I would imagine.

A combination of elegant Bedouin tent, American picnic and fabulous Italian flair, the color and texture mixing are at their best!

The Missoni look is on runways, homes, hotels, restaurants, housewares and even Target! So simply everyone can partake of their fabulous talents. It’s easy to accomplish this type of pattern mixing when it’s all from one company. They do all the hard work for you. But to achieve this look yourself can be challenging. I’ll address a part of that in the next few blogs, so check back to get some tips and tricks.

In the meantime check out the video below for Missoni at it’s best…and Carly Simon say’s it so well…Nobody Does it Better. What do you think of this look? Won’t you leave me comment below with your thoughts? And Salute to Margherita and her handsome groom!
