Today is the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famous speech “I Have a Dream”. A speech all people throughout our world should listen to regularly, and share with our little one’s who weren’t there.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to see the movie “The Butler”. It was a terrific statement and chronicle of the civil rights fight through the eyes of an African American Butler who served the White House and 7 Presidents on both sides of the aisle. Based on a true story, I recommend that everyone see it. The statement, the acting and the filming of it all together have produced a great movie.
As one who grew up during this particular civil rights fight, it brought back memories, and made me feel that the civil rights fights that we still wage today can really be won as well. And that anyone with a dream can actually make it come true.
Thank you Dr. King for your inspiration, your leadership and your commitment to non-violent communication!
So my question to you is…Do you have a dream? Won’t you give it words here? Share your dream in the comments below….I’d love to hear them.
Take the time to listen to Dr. Kings speech, it is as inspirational today as it was yesterday.
