A great chef will tell you that as in life in general, it’s not about the size…of your kitchen that is, but what you do with it that makes it work! In this day and age when many baby boomers are retiring and becoming empty nesters, they are also down sizing, or as I like to put it, rightsizing. With that comes a smaller footprint in general, and a smaller kitchen. Trend #4 for kitchens in 2013…Small and mighty kitchens! Let’s see what that can look like:
Like any larger kitchen it can include all the same elements, just on a smaller scale.
As in Kitchen Trends part 1, adding a bit of old world charm makes it interesting.
Even the smallest kitchens can let the outside in don’t you think? As in Kitchen Trends part 2
And yes, adding industrial elements in a small kitchen works too! Just as stated in Kitchen Trends part 3.
Small kitchens can also include some elements I haven’t talked about…yet. For instance, kitchen dining.
Bottom line, with a little ingenuity and some clever tricks, you can create an amazing, functional and lovely small kitchen!
Last but not least, utilize every inch of space and yes, you too can have a small and very functional kitchen!

GREAT photos that really capture the “doesn’t have to be big to function” kitchen. I think your theme ideas for your blog is a great idea too. Kind of like reading a book series. I think we are bombarded w/ so much random, unrelated stuff these days…that people welcome consistently themed thought. Keep on keeping on…my sweet. Oh…and I loved your video of you. WE NEED A CHAT!!!XXOO

I am a fan of smaller kitchens that function well. Not everyone has a big family or entertains a lot. There are some very good ideas in this post.
