After a fabulous morning spent at Pike Market we drove over to the Miele Showroom to begin the cooking with “Miele Combi Steam Oven”, part two of our food extravaganza!

With 8 interior designers and bloggers, plus the showroom managers and Miele US reps we baked and cooked our way to a 5 course meal plus dessert, AND a mid afternoon “Kaffe und kuchen” break! We all pitched in to help make the food and we had a great time doing it. There isn’t anything better then bonding over food and wine, is there?

But, by far the star of the afternoon was Miele’s combination convection/steam oven in which we baked, roasted and steamed away.

While we all know the benefits of healthy eating, especially steamed over fried  or roasting without added oils and butters, it’s not until you taste the results that you get it. Because it’s convection, it can slow cook, or quick roast, and with the addition of the steam every morsel is moist and incredibly taste-filled!

And, because Miele is a technological innovator they have all these built in programs to make it easy to achieve delicious results. Yes, it would take a bit of learning to use it properly…but let’s face it folks, we really don’t want to become obsolete so learning something new is good for us, right?

To that end Miele showrooms across the United States and beyond not only give you a complete booklet of instructions, but offer classes that you can take in their professional kitchens to test drive this oven first, and once you decide to purchase it, to take further classes in order to learn the full range of what you can do with it.

All I can say, it not only was the control panel easy to navigate, but better yet, the results were outstanding! The baked goods browned and flakey, cookies soft and moist…and the roasted chicken was perfection, with out any added oil or butter. The steamed salmon was amazing and the lamb chops were the best I’ve ever had!

So Cheers to new friends, and the Miele team for inviting me to test out their new #combi/steam oven. As a designer with many kitchen remodel projects this is definitely an oven I would introduce my clients to; especially the clients who love to cook. I know that when they come out with the range version I will definitely consider it for my own kitchen remodel…hopefully next year!
