Wild Flour Bread-Entertaining Sonoma Style

Wild Flour Bread-Entertaining Sonoma Style

Who doesn’t like freshly baked and organic bread? Here in Sonoma County we are blessed to have Wild Flour Bread, an organic bakery located in the small bucolic town of Freestone, CA.

Sunday’s baked goods!

Only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8:30AM until 6:30PM it has become a local hang out. We start lining up to get our great morning coffee and a warm scone or sticky bun…AND pick up our bread for a special meal or for the week.

Sally works the morning crowd handing out samples and filling coffee orders!

This past Sunday I took a guest to experience this Sonoma County treat. The weather was perfect, the locals and tourists were out in force! Lining up down the street and spilling out into the gardens in the back.

Local or Tourist, what do you think?

Wild Flour uses a wood fired brick oven that produces beautiful hard crust breads that we all flock from miles around to taste. The bakery has a wonderful garden perfect for exploring, and includes many flowers and even a small fruit orchard. Children are often found playing hide and go seek and picking the abundant lines of raspberries and blackberries. With 12 ft sunflowers mingling along the tiny curving paths it’s a good refuge and feast for the eyes.

Wild Flour is a perfect example of farm to table eating and is representative of the way of life those of us here in Sonoma County are fortunate to live.

Check out the video below to join us in a local experience and a little bit of beauty™ for sure, don’t you think? And won’t you share with me a favorite place in your home town?
