June is here in wine country and there is no better way to prepare for summer fun then by pulling together picnic essentials, Sonoma Style™. While we are experiencing a bit of June gloom in the mornings it makes for mild and sunny days in the mid 70’s. The weather is truly spectacular and there is no better way to enjoy it then with a picnic!
What are the essentials for a Sonoma Style™ picnic? Well, first you need a great carrier. I like these baskets I found at the Sebastopol Farmers market. They come in all sizes, colors and several shapes. They are fun and work as carriers for all things, especially picnic supplies. I always include a patterned table cloth, cloth napkins, small plates, real silverware, and wine glasses. No landfills for this girl.
Then you need a bottle carrier for the wine, sparkling drinks and your water. Whether a vintage milk carrier or this basket below I found on Amazon, which is one of my favorites as it also carries all of your accouterments such as the all important corkscrew.
Then of course there is the food! Well, that’s not a problem here in Sonoma County. Fresh from the farm produce, cheese and meats we’ve got it all. And did I say wine? Oh yeah, we’ve got that too!
Now all you need is the setting, not hard to find in our bucolic countryside and your favorite people to enjoy a great summer picnic, Sonoma Style™! Cheers
