There is a re-surgence of bespoke with an expansion of customization into almost every category of product and service. I believe this is a counterpoint to the mass production we’ve seen emerge in our lives. It is a way to turn the mundane everyday item and event into an art form; and with the help of the internet, bringing it to customers globally!

Bespoke is a British English word that meant a clothing item made to a buyer’s specification (personalised or tailored). While it was only used for men’s tailored clothing, footwear and other apparel, implying measurement and fitting, it is back again and has now expanded to include any custom crafted item from computer programs to luxury goods, services such as travel, and of course custom crafted furniture and accessories.
This past trip on #BlogTourNYC we had the opportunity to meet with the team from Bespoke Global, a small but growing company that seeks out the custom craftsman and helps them take their superior products to a global market. From grown up toys…
to beautifully crafted and one of a kind lights…
and furniture.
Each and every item is hand selected and reviewed for quality and unique design by the two owners Gwen and Pippa. The process is documented and each step of the way is approved of by the customer and the ladies who search the globe for hidden talent.
What’s exciting for me about this whole bespoke trend, and Bespoke Global is the fact that it gives the world art in many forms. And, these talented artisans and craftsmen now have a way to showcase their art/product to the world. Thanks to Gwen and Pippa for an exciting look at the possibilities for customizing our homes!
Art in all forms is a Little Bit of Beauty™ for sure…check out the two videos below for a look into the world and vision of two of their craftsmen! What do you think? Is Bespoke here to stay?
Can’t you feel your hands running over these gorgeous pieces?
