I’d like to share my Coastal Facelift project in Bodega Bay, the second of 5 projects I’ve had on our coast. This project was all about the details.
My client bought this home here on our Sonoma Coast in Bodega Bay. Built in the late 70’s, the home had not been touched since then. There was a lot of white carpeting, mirrored back splashes and other track home details.
It is a second home for them and their two older teens, so they wanted a home for the family, but also for them when the kids were off to school. The main stipulation was that they are art and glass collectors so they wanted way’s to display both.
The high ceilings are perfect for paintings and photos, to be accumulated over time, and we made sure there was plenty of surface space for them to display glass. Their aesthetic is a bit more contemporary or soft modern. And they liked neutrals with a pop of color.
We updated the kitchen with a new back splash, handles and plumbing fixtures. We changed the flooring and carpeting through out, and updated both bathrooms. We added some built in shelving, updated the fireplace with a gas insert (much more green and easy to light) and of course paint and lighting fixtures were all updated.
Once the construction was completed we picked out the furniture pieces, delivered them and I set it all up…Voilà, a turn key project for my happy clients.
