Those of you who follow me here may have noticed that I’ve been somewhat absent from the blog sphere…well, it’s because I’m in the midst of a finalizing the details for my latest project, the Manika jewelry store in San Francisco. And as part of that project I’ve been collaborating with Dave Allen owner and creator of Artefact Design & Salvage!
Have you heard of Artefact Design & Salvage? The brainchild of entrepreneur and creative genius Dave Allen, it’s located in Cornerstone Sonoma. An avid collector and salvage guy, Dave is also a product experimenter/creator and manufactures both his own designs as well as collaborates with others, in this case me. His store front is an amalgamation of international finds and experiments that have proven their metal…so to speak.
We’ve been working on the jewelry cases, both new ones and re-cycled and updated existing ones. And props…can I tell you what great props we are finding at his store?
From an exciting plan for the front windows, to props for the cases and on the floor, plus unique lighting elements, he and his store offer many exciting and fabulous finds from around the world as well as from both internal inspiration and adaptations of other ideas.
To get a sense of what we are collaborating and envisioning, check out my design inspiration board on Pinterest, and follow both Dave’s pinterest profile, and mine for cool ideas. And stop by Artefact Design & Salvage, say hey to Dave…
…and Axel Dog, Artefact Design & Salvage’s Security system and Dave’s Muse!
What inspires you in your daily life and in your work? Do you have people you collaborate with? Stay tuned…they’ll be much more on the jewelry store project over the next few weeks. I can’t wait to see it done. Cheers!
