In a season that’s become the ultimate in consumerism it’s great to come up with some simple and thoughtful Christmas Gifts. Here are a few of my personal favorites:
Brave the Unknown is juicy morsel of a book, filled with bite size poems that are geared to absorb, contemplate and chew over again and again! Written from the heart and about the heart, it is an inspiring and uplifting read, and written for any person who enjoys the beauty of words and to delve into their very soul. I believe Ushi Patel is a voice you will hear more from in the future. Don’t buy one, buy several, you’ll want to give it everyone on your list!
Ornaments and ornamentation with uplifting and fun messages are available at Wishnest, an online retail catalog. From gifts for the home, to meaning filled jewelry and fun wine accessories, this site has something for everyone from stocking stuffers to under the tree boxes at great price points!
And, Before They Pass Away, is an amazing book of photographs taken by Jimmy Nelson as he travels to the outmost edges of our planet looking for tribes and a way of life that is quickly becoming extinct. An enriching look at our world and one you will want to savor as each picture is a work of art.
Jimmy documented not only with photos of these amazing people, but also with video footage of his travels which will soon come out in documentary form. There was one section on Youtube which has since been taken down that I had the great good fortune to see. It will be the most awe inspiring adventure travel footage you will ever see. Buy the book for Christmas and savor this one for years to come.
