The Getty Museum Gardens

I love visiting the Getty Museum gardens.  In every season the gardens change and unless you stand on the edge and look down at the panorama that is Los Angeles, you  can completely loose yourself in the midst of a water filled garden both natural and formal at the same time.

The overall landscaping is designed by Laurie Olin, and complements and enhances Richard Meier’s architectural design, providing a balance between man-made and the natural. Originally its color scheme was primarily lavender and white (except in the fall), perhaps not coincidentally the colors of one of the museum’s prized paintings, Van Gogh’s Irises.  It’s morphed over the years and is now a full spectrum of color!  Continue reading “The Getty Museum Gardens” »

Bon Voyage Plastiki

As you can see, I’m on a roll of exploring global projects that inspire, call attention to specific issues, AND create something beautiful.  Here…Plastiki, a work of modern art!

The Plastiki is the name of the sailing vessel which adventurer and environmentalist David de Rothschild and a four-man/one-woman crew
will sail across the Pacific Ocean.  On March 20th, after nearly 4 years of development the Plastiki (a 60-foot catamaran made from post consumer plastic water and soda bottles) finally sailed off on its big adventure!    Continue reading “Bon Voyage Plastiki” »

I met Audrey Cavenecia when she gave a very short talk on the natural design of a woman…WOW…did that resonate for me!  I do believe there is a authentic  design for all that is natural in our world.  Why not for men and women?  I love that she is not about women are great and men are not…but rather that we each have our own inherent design, as it is meant to be.  And, when we operate according to how we are designed we will perform better, feel better and our world will therefore flow in a more natural way.  Introducing Audrey Cavenecia.  Pay attention…we will be seeing a lot more of her!    Continue reading “The Natural Design of a Woman” »
